Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS)

CAPS offers group therapy for current University of Arkansas students. Group Therapy is funded through the student health fee, so there is no out-of-pocket cost to students to attend. To find out more information about available groups, please call CAPS at (479) 575-5276, or visit their office on the second floor of the Pat Walker Health Center. 

Online Help

Student Success provides face-to-face and online tutoring at their Kimpel Hall and Mullins Library locations. Tutors provide reader feedback and collaborate with student writers to help them learn revision strategies for improving their drafts.

The Tech-Selector Web app from IT Services can help students, faculty and staff work smarter and faster with instant guidance on options for teaching online, managing files, doing research, creating videos, working from home and more. Users select student, faculty or staff and what they want to accomplish. After clicking "See the tech tools," a personalized, printable list is generated with links to step-by-step instructions and support information. This list can also be emailed to the user for easy access anytime. 

Get Involved

The Volunteer Action Center now offers GivePulse, a new volunteer Management system available to students, staff, faculty, and community members. GivePulse is a comprehensive volunteer platform that will allow users to locate volunteer opportunities on campus and around the Northwest Arkansas community. Users can log their service hours and have them verified by volunteer supervisors; logging service hours through GivePulse will automatically keep track and enter you into any qualifying awards, such as the President's Volunteer Service Award and the Chancellor's Community Service Award.

Jane B. Gearhart Full Circle Food Pantry

The Full Circle Food Pantry was established in 2011 by students who became aware of their peers' struggle with finding adequate nutrition. They not only provide meals but balanced nutrition in a dignified, friendly environment to any UARK community member. Current hours of operation can be found on the website.

Veteran Resources and Information Center

The Veteran and Military-Affiliated Student Center (VMSC) serves as the central point of contact for prospective or current University of Arkansas student veterans needing assistance with the admissions process, applying for military educational benefits and scholarships, and referrals to various departments around campus.  Additionally, they maintain a large network within the community to refer students to organizations specializing in veteran services.

The U of A embraces a culture that focuses on celebrating and improving the quality of life for the campus community. UARK Wellness aims to help by maximizing positive qualities and embracing healthier lifestyles.

American Political Science Association (APSA)

APSA promotes a range of programs and services for individuals, departments, and institutions with the focus of bringing together political scientists from all fields of inquiry, regions, and occupational endeavors within and outside academia to deepen our understanding of politics, democracy, and citizenship throughout the world. 

American Society for Public Administration (ASPA)

ASPA is a public service organization that advances the art, science, teaching, and practice of public and non-profit administration. It aims to promote the value of joining and elevating the public service profession and provides networking and professional development opportunities to those committed to public service values. 

Arkansas Political Science Association (ArkPSA)

ArkPSA was established in 1974 with a membership that includes university and secondary political science educators, graduate and undergraduate students, practitioners, and others interested in the scientific study of government and politics. 

Association for Public Policy Analysis & Management (APPAM)

APPAM is dedicated to improving public policy and management by fostering excellence in research, analysis, and education. 

International City/County Management Association (ICMA)

ICMA advances professional local government worldwide. It's mission is to create excellence in local governance by developing and fostering professional management to build better communities. 

International Institute for Strategic Studies (IIS)

IIS convenes a vibrant community of leading analysts, journalists, academics, diplomats, military and government officials, policy planners, researchers, heads of corporate offices, business-unit managers, and students at undergraduate and graduate level in order to enable a context of insight-sharing through published work, local events, seminars, workshops and annual conferences, gathering key decision-makers from across the globe. International Political Science Association (IPSA)

IPSA was founded in Paris in 1949 under the aegis of the United Nations Educations, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). The special mandate of IPSA, expressed in its Constitution, is to support the development of political science in all parts of the world, building academic networks linking East and West, North and South. Its aim is to create an inclusive and global political science community in which all can participate. It seeks to promote collaboration between scholars in emerging and established democracies and to support the academic freedoms needed for the social sciences to flourish. 

International Studies Association (ISA)

ISA comprises of academics, practitioners, policy experts, private sector workers and independent researchers and serves as a central hub for the exchange of ideas and for networking and programmatic initiatives among those involved in the study, teaching and practice of International Studies. 

Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA)

MPSA is dedicated to the advancement of scholarship in all areas of political science. Its purpose is to promote the professional study and teaching of political science, to facilitate communications between those engaged in such study, and to develop standards for and encourage research in theoretical and practical political problems. MPSA is a nonpartisan association that does not support political parties or candidates. 

Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC)

MPAC is a national public affairs nonprofit organization working to promote and strengthen American pluralism by increasing understanding and improving policies that impact American Muslims. 

Southeastern Conference for Public Administration (SECoPA)

SECoPA has been the gathering place of ideas for public service practitioners, researchers, and students in a ten state region. Conference attendees are given the opportunity to engage in scholarly discourse, discover the latest innovations in the field, and network with other public service administrators. 

Southern Political Science Association (SPSA)

SPSA was founded in 1929 with the primary purpose of publishing a professional journal - the Journal of Politics - to improve teaching, to promote interest and research in theoretical and practical political problems, to encourage communication and to develop standards of competence and respect between persons engaged in the professional study and practice of government and politics.

Southwestern Political Science Association (SWPSA)

SWPSA is an affiliate of the Southwestern Social Science Association (SSSA), an organization dedicated to promoting knowledge and understanding amid the complexities and transient aspects of today's world. It brings together professional scholars, graduate students, and undergraduates from across the country and the world in the spirit of intellectual growth, collaboration, and collegiality. 

Western Political Science Association (WPSA)

WPSA is dedicated to its purpose of promoting the study and teaching of government and politics, to foster research and to facilitate the discussion of public affairs.
